JAMMU, Apr 3: Police rescued two bovine animals and arrested a smuggler from forest area in Raka area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bagh-e-Bahu police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station laid a naka in the forest area near Raka and intercepted a person carrying two bovine animals on foot.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and was arrested on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Yasir Hussain, son of Parvez Ahmed, a resident of district Anantnag, Kashmir.
A case under FIR Number 40/16 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu police station Inspector Vijay Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
