JAMMU, Apr 3: Police XI and Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) smashed their rivals and sailed into the next round of the ongoing 4th J&K Premier League T-20 Tourney, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club at GGM Science College ground, here today.
The first match was played between International Cricket Club (ICC) and Police XI, in which latter registered win by 6 wickets. Batting first, ICC scored 138 runs for the loss of all wickets in 20 overs. Nipun was the top scorer with 60 runs, while Salman contributed 46 runs.
For Police XI side, Farooq Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 wickets, while Sunil Sambyal and Vishal took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Police XI chased the target in 18.3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Kanhiya played a splendid inning of 38 runs, while Anand Tiwari and Amit made 28 and 24 runs respectively.
For ICC side, Sant Baksh and Nipun took one wicket each.
Farooq Ahmed was adjudged as man of the match for his excellent bowling performance.
Meanwhile, Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) thrashed Friends Cricket Club (FCC) by 6 runs in the second match and entered into the next stage of the tourney.
Batting first, KCC scored 125 runs for all out in 20 overs. Sonu made 44 runs, while Gurjeet and Minkal made 17 runs each.
For FCC side, Ashish and Kultaran scalped 3 wickets each, while Vickram took 2 wickets.
In the second inning, FCC failed to chase the target and lost the match by just 6 runs for all out in 19.1 overs. Vickram and Hitesh made 21 runs each, while Gagan scored 19 runs.
For KCC side, Bawa, Prithvi and Manu took 2 wickets each.
Sonu was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh and Sanju as umpires, while Vinod maintained the scorecard.
