MENDHAR, Apr 4: The crops have received extensive damage due to massive hail-storm in several areas of Mendhar in district Poonch this afternoon.
Reports said that heavy rain, thunder storm and hailstorm occurred in Gursai, Harni and Nakka Majari area of Mendhar. It caused extensive damage to the crops of the farmers. The Sarpanchs of the area urged upon the Government to start assessment of the damaged crops and provide compensation to the affected farmers of the area.
They said that during last week also crops had suffered damages in hailstorm but today it was massive and over 80 crops have been damaged.
