APS Udhampur blanks APS Srinagar in football final

UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Hosts Army Public School (APS) Udhampur thrashed APS Srinagar by five goals to nil (5-0) in the final and lifted the title trophy of the Inter-Regional Command Football Tournament 2012-13, which concluded at APS Udhampur ground, here.
Five football teams drawn from Army Public Schools of Northern Command participated in this 2-day event, organized by APS Udhampur.
Director AWES, HQ Northern Command Col (retired) Arun Kumar and Brig P Mandotra, SO to Chairman, APS Udhampur were the special guests on the valedictory function and distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Lakhwinder Singh of APS Udhampur was adjudged man of the tournament for which he was congratulated by School Principal Vinod Joseph, who also appreciated team coach Gurmeet Singh for good show.
Birender Pratap Singh was skipper of the winning team, who alongwith his team members were cheered for this convincing win.
The event was coordinated by Manjeet Singh, Sports Incharge Army Public School Udhampur.
