JAMMU, Apr 18: Three persons have been arrested for smuggling bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a truck bearing registration JK02AG-5369.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested three persons, who have been identified as Khalil Ahmed, son of Badar Din and Zulfkar Ahmed, son of Lal Din, both residents of Surankot, District Poonch and Mohammad Bashir, son of Altaf Din of Arnas, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 93/16 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
