Prinkle, Sumitpal keep State Flag high in Tennis

JAMMU, Apr 21: Prinkle Singh and her brother Sumitpal Singh, ace tennis players of Jammu and Kashmir excelled in singles and doubles events of the ongoing National Series AITA Ranking Tournaments at Chamunda Tennis Academy, Karnal, Haryana.
Prinkle today made a big triumph by defeating top seed of the tournaments, Shivani Ameneni from Hyderabad, Telangana in one-sided match by (6-3, 6-0).
Prinkle won the first set by 6-3, while in second set she beat Shivani by 6-0. Prinkle jumped to semifinal and will play the match tomorrow against Sravya of Telangana.
In quarterfinal, she defeated Radhika Yadev of Haryana by (6-2, 6-0) and in pre-quarterfinal, she defeated Ishita Singh of Haryana by 6-1,6-1.
Earlier, in first and second round, Prinkle defeated Biswas of West Bengal and Shristi of Haryana.
In double event, Sumitpal Singh and Aman Patel of Gujarat reached final they won semifinal today by defeating the pair of Arnav Bhardwaj of Delhi and Himanshu More of Haryana by (6-3,6-1).
In earlier matches, the duo defeated top seed of tournament in doubles Sagar Bains of Chandigarh and Reddy of Karnatka in a three setter match. In pre-quarterfinal they defeated GS Sanjay of Kerala and Mohamad of Delhi by 6-7,6-3, 10-6.
They will play final tomorrow morning.
