Two of a family killed, one injured in wall collapse

JAMMU, Apr 21: Two of a family including a 2-year-old child was killed while another injured in wall collapse in Lakkar Mandi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Gora Lal (27) son of Tula Ram, his wife Durga Devi (23) and their two year-old male child namely Armaan, received injuries when the a boundary wall of a plot, wherein they were residing in a jhuggi, suddenly collapsed, this evening.
“The locals immediately launched a rescue operation evicted them from the debris of the wall and in serious condition rushed them to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Gora Lal and his son were declared as brought dead by the doctors. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem”, the spokesman said, adding the condition of the injured woman serious but stable.
He said a case in this connection was registered at police station Janipur and further investigations were underway. However, the eyewitnesses informed that the boundary wall collapsed due to excessive load of a large heap of bricks lying along the outer side of the wall.
