JAMMU, Apr 23: Additional Director General of Police (Trainings), Navin Agarwal visited Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur (SKPA) along with a team of officers from Police Headquarters and took stock of the ongoing training activities there. He interacted with the Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police, other trainees and discussed quality of training being imparted to them.
During interaction with the Probationary Officers, Mr. Agarwal emphasised that investigating skills with latest technologies of investigation needs to be inculcated so that professional performance at grass root level gets improved. He exhorted the officers to be more responsible to redress grievances of the people and treat the people, visiting police stations and offices, with courtesy. He asked them to empathize with the victims of crime by dealing sternly with the law violators.
Mr. Agarwal also interacted with Probationary Prosecuting Officers and asked them to learn basic policing so that they are able to deliver efficiently in the field in coordination with the investigating agencies. He asked the trainees to imbibe a spirit of public service as police has prime duty to provide security to the people, besides safeguarding their fundamental rights.
ADGP later convened a meeting of officers to review period wise syllabi for different training courses.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Director SKPA, Rajesh Kumar, Assistants Directors, Randhir Singh and Shiv Kumar, Dy: Superint-endents of Police, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah and Mohammad Iqbal and other officers.
