NARBAL, Apr 24: Former Chief Minister and National Conference Working president, Omar Abdullah on Sunday inaugurated the Narbal Premiere League T20 Cricket Tournament at Narbal in Beerwah Constituency and released an amount of two lakhs to the youth for the tournament.
Speaking at the event, Omar Abdullah said J&K’s youth were second-to-none in talent and determination and deserved the best facilities and avenues to hone their skills.
“Our youth have proven their mettle in the fields of academics as well as sports and have excelled at national and international platforms. Despite a prolonged period of turmoil in the Valley, Kashmiri youth have demonstrated an indomitable spirit of resilience to become achievers in their respective fields and it is this trait of theirs that will shape a bright future for our State and its people”, Omar Abdullah said.
The National Conference Working president exhorted the youth to take a leading role in evolving solutions to the social, political and economic challenges faced by the State. “You are our future and you have to lead from the front and show the way. In your empowerment lies our future. Your skills and imagination hold the key to the State’s prosperity”, Omar Abdullah told the youth while interacting with them during the inauguration of the tournament.
The NC Working President also sought information about the progress of various works in his constituency and interacted with various public delegations. He also ascertained about the progress of various party activities from party workers and asked them to continue consolidating.
