CS reviews Darbar move arrangements

JAMMU, Apr 25: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma today reviewed the Darbar move arrangements from Jammu to Srinagar here in a meeting with officers.
It was informed in the meeting that trucks and buses have been deployed for ferrying official record and employees on  April 30 & May 1 and on May 7 & 8. In this connection, Chief Secretary directed putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of Darbar move vehicles.
He directed that extra buses and trucks be kept available during the move days besides deploying adequate number of cranes, mobile workshops, recovery vans, medical mobile teams, ambulances along with necessary equipment and staff en-route to meet any exigency.
Chief Secretary also asked representatives from BEACON to ensure good condition of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway especially at vulnerable spots.
Arrangements have also been made for providing escort security to the employees and convoys carrying the official records.
Chief Secretary directed CA&PD to issue ration cards and temporary LPG connections to move employees for their Srinagar stay and to ensure timely supply of ration besides directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees.
Mr Sharma asked Estates departments to ensure that staff posted to address problems of electricity, water etc remains present in residential colonies and a complaint register and redress mechanism is put in place so that employees do not face any inconvenience.
Chief Secretary also gave instructions to reassess the security deployment requirements in employee residential colonies at both Jammu and Srinagar so that it is further strengthened.
