JAMMU, Apr 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has urged upon the State Government led by Mehbooba Mufti to come out with a road map to address the long pending issue of displaced persons (DPs) from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing meetings of DPs at Ranibagh, Gadigarh and Digiana today, JKSAC president Gurdev Singh said that the issues of the DPs from PoJK should be resolved as per guidelines of Joint Parliamentary Committee. He also demanded early sanctioning of the amount of PM’s package announced for the displaced persons. He also stressed for making simple procedure for the identification of families and providing installment of package.
Mr Singh said that previous Governments never took the issue of PoJK DPs seriously and the hapless families kept on struggling for the decades. They were only befooled by various political parties for their vote bank. While expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing package, the refugee leader said that this package has created confusion among DPs rather than providing them solace and the package lacks clarity and many components are missing. There is resentment among the DPs over the approach of the State Government.
Meanwhile, JKSAC working committee was also reframed with the induction of Master Yograj, Daulat Ram, Harbans Singh and Netar Parkash as new office bearers.
