Srinagar, Apr 28: Police today said it have solved a hit and run case by seizing the vehicle and arresting the accused driver within two days in south Kashmir’s Pampore area of Pulwama district.
A police spokesman said a minor girl namely Ainab Ashiq, who was a student of Satisar Public School Pampore, died after she was hit by an unknown vehicle at Tulbagh Pampore on 26th of this month.
“Subsequently a case under Section 279-304A RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. The investigating officer succeeded in identifying the accused driver within two days. The accused driver identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh has been arrested. The vehicle he was driving was also seized. Further investigation in this regard is going on,” he added.
