JAMMU, Apr 28: A 54-year-old woman was killed today in a road mishap in Talab Tillo area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a rashly driven minibus bearing registration number JK02BG-5857 this afternoon hit a woman pedestrian near Dharm Palace in Talab Tillo area and left her seriously injured.
“The injured woman identified as Pushpa Devi wife of Kala Ram, a resident of Akalpur, was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead”, the spokesman said.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem while a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station. “The mini-bus involved in the mishap was seized whereas efforts were on to nab the accused driver, who managed to escape from the spot”, he added.
