Srinagar, Apr 28: In its drive against sale, distribution of spurious, illegal, unauthorized pesticides by dealers, a team of Law Enforcement agency of several districts of Valley under the supervision of Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir various premises and godowns and acted against those dealers who were violating existing law. According to an official spokesman, the inspections were carried out at Budgam, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag districts and various pesticide dealers were booked for running their business in contravention of the Insecticide Act 1968 and other rules.
The spokesman said 2080 kilograms of misbranded pesticides was seized from Anantnag and 31 from Kulgam. He said the prosecution cases have been initiated against the business dealers found violating the existing laws and rules and the drive would continue in the coming days.
