JAMMU, Apr 28: A deputation of PHE Workers Welfare Association (Daily Wagers Wing), Jammu province today met the Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Choudhary and apprised him of the issues of the workers.
Led by Subhash Verma, general secretary of PHE Workers Welfare Association and president Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh and Ashok Choudhary general secretary (BMS), the members of the delegation discussed the burning issues of the permanent and daily wage/ temporary employees of the department.
During the meeting, the delegation also submitted a memorandum to the minister. The major demands projected before the minister included regularization of all the daily wagers after five years of service, grant of Rs 150 as minimum wage to each category of daily wagers of PHE, rectify mistake in the number of PHE workers to be regularized which is 9317 and not 4905, adjust dependents of deceased daily wagers on humanitarian ground and clear the pending wages of the workers.
The minister listened to the issues of the PHE workers and assured to solve the same on priority basis. Ravi Kumar, Irshad Hussain, Neel Kumar, Satish Kumar, Vishwa Nath Dubey, Chamail Singh and Vikram Sharma also accompanied.
