JP World School organizes Inter House Basketball Tourney

JAMMU, Apr 29: In order to inculcate sports spirit and build endurance and stamina among students, JP World School organized Inter House Basketball Competition which concluded here today.
Senior students of classes 9th to 12th participated in the event. The competition commenced with the March Past by students of all houses namely Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and Tawi.
After the March Past, Jitinder Singh Hundal declared the competition open.
In the first phase of the competition, league matches were held.
The final match was played between Jhelum and Tawi Houses. The final match was very exciting as both the team played very well. But, Tawi House defeated Jhelum by 6 points.
Aditya of Tawi House scored 22 points and was declared as the man of the match as well as the man of the tournament.
At the closing ceremony, the Principal of the school, Mr Hundal gave away the prizes to the winners and highlighted the importance of games and sports.
He said that that physical activities not only make us physically fit but also improves our concentration and learning skills.
He concluded the speech by saying ‘sound mind lives in a sound body’.
