Mountaineering Association organizes Reasi District Sport Climbing Competition

JAMMU, Apr 30: Continuing its thrust on organizing more and more sport climbing competitions, Mountaineering Associa-tion of J&K conducted Reasi District Sport Climbing Competition today at Sprawling Buds School, Jammu. It was the third competition in a row as the Association organized Jammu and Udhampur District Competition earlier.
About 60 budding climbers of Reasi district participated in the day long competition which was conducted only in Junior Boys and Mini Boys categories.
Since almost all the climbers were participating in their maiden competition the competitions were conducted on ‘top rope’ to make them feel safe and secure.
The competitions were conducted under the supervision of Shawetica Khajuria, a national judge in sport climbing and Joint Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K. Whereas Shashi Kant, Hardev Singh Aman Arora and Manik Slathia were the Route Setters cum Belayers of the competition, Sakshi Magotra was the Judge of the competition.
Director of Sprawling Buds School Rahul Sharma who was today’s Chief Guest and Principal of Amba Kids Home, Panthal, Reasi Ashwani Katoch, distributed medals to the winners.
Results: Mini Boys: 1. Arif Mushtak  2.Sandeep   3. Adil Khan.
Junior Boys: 1, Aseer  2.Yasin Malik  3.Waker
Meanwhile, General Secretary of Mountaineering Association, Ram Khajuria has announced that all the   medalists of Reasi District will be imparted proper training in sport climbing at Jammu during summer vacations.
