JAMMU, May 1: Defeating star-studded Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) in an easy contest by 7 wickets, strong Murtaza Warriors lifted the title trophy of the Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, KCCC bundled out for a paltry total of 86 runs in 18.3 overs. Jatin Wadhawan top scored with 21 runs, Sahil Sharma scored 17 runs, while Vimarsh Kaw contributed 13 runs to the total. Soumay Jain remained unbeaten on 5 runs. Abid Nabi and Sahil Shafi took 2 wickets each for Murtaza Warriors, while Jahangir Lone, Omar Alam and Waseem Raza claimed one wicket each.
Murtaza Warriors, in reply scored 91 runs in 12.4 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Jahangir Lone top scored with 26 runs, while Sajad Ganie and Ishtiaq Rasool contributed unbeaten 22 and 18 runs total respectively. For KCCC, skipper Manik Gupta took 3 wickets, while Raman Dutta claimed one. Jahagir Lone was declared man of the match and man of the series, while Puneet Kumar was adjudged as best batsman and Ankush Bandral as best bowler. Praful Dhar was presented a trophy for emerging highest wicket taker of the Tournament, scalping 9 wickets in four matches.
The match was officiated by  Saleem-ur-Rehman and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires, while Vinod Kandyara was the scorer.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), RK Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion, while Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Mahender Singh were the guests of honour. The chief guest and the other dignitaries presented a cash prize of 30,000 and a trophy to the winners, while a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy was presented to the runners-up team on the occasion.
