JAMMU, May 10: Inter Zonal and School Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) were in full swing at different venues today.
JAMMU: Inter Zonal District Level Competitions for under 14 and 17 girls in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-kho and Volleyball commenced at GHSS Domana and GHS Jammu Cantt. The competition was declared open by Principal GHSS Domana.
In under-14 Volleyball, Khour beat Marh by 2-0 sets and Marh defeated Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets, whereas in under-17 category, Marh beat Gandhi Nagar by 2-0 set, Miran Sahib defeated Akhnoor by 2-0 set and Chowki Choura smashed Satwari by 2-0 set.
In under-14 Kabaddi, Satwari beat Miran Sahib by 43-41 points, Bhalwal defeated Jammu by 20-8 points, RS Pura smashed Bishnah by 34-32 points and Marh crushed Jourian by 30-5 points, whereas in under-17 category, Marh beat Bishnah by 36-15 points, Bhalwal defeated Jammu by 29-11 points, Jourian beat RS Pura by 37-5 points, Chowki Choura smashed Arnia by 18-16 points and Miran Sahib crushed Marh by 31-20 points.
In under-14 Kho-Kho, Satwari beat Bhalwal by 2-1 points, Jammu beat Chowki Choura by 2-1 points, Khour defeated Bishnah by 7-3 points, Dansal smashed Marh by 3-2 points, Arnia crushed Gandhi Nagar by 5-2 points and RS Pura thrashed Jourian by 6-3 points, whereas in under-17 category, Khour beat Bishnah by 10-4 points, Jourian beat RS Pura by one turn and six points, Dansal defeated Marh by 8-7 points, Jammu smashed Chowki Choura by one turn and one points and Bhalwal crushed Satwari by 4-0 points.
In under-14 Cricket (boys), Jammu lost to Gandhi Nagar in the final match by 9 wickets at GHS Jammu Cantt. Earlier, Jammu beat Khour by 8 wickets in the first semifinal match, whereas in second semifinal, Gandhi Nagar registered 5 runs win over Marh Zone in a keenly contested match.
SAMBA: Four days Zonal Level Inter School Competitions for under-14 and 17 boys and girls in the discipline of Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Badminton and Wrestling concluded at Vijaypur Zone.
In under-17 Kabaddi final (girls), GHSS Vijaypur registered win over GGHSS Gurha Slathia by 3 points, whereas in under-17 Volleyball final, GHSS Suchani crushed Fouji Public High School Patti.
In under-17 Kho-Kho final, BBN Vijaypur thrashed GHSS Vijaypur by 3 points.
In under-14 Badminton boys (single), Ritik Sambyal GMS Jakh emerged winners, whereas in under-14 girls (single), Simran Kour GHSS Sujwan secured first position.
In under-14 boys (double), Raghunandan and Abbu of MV International School emerged winner, whereas in under-17 boys (single), Atish of MV International School claimed first position, in under-17 girls (single), Sapna of GHS Sunjwan emerged winner and in under-17 girls (double), Vidhi and Anjali of GGHSS Jakh claimed top rank.
Meanwhile, Inter School Zone Level Badminton Championship concluded at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Samba.
In under-14 doubles, NV Dhalote lost to GMS Kehli Mandi by 21-12 points.
In under-17 girls (double), Kristu Jyoti Convent School (Kriti Singh and Ridhima Slathia) smashed National High School (Savi Rajput and Kajal) by 21-17 points, whereas in under-17 boys (double), Co-operative High School (Ujwal Gupta and Vishav Partap Singh) thrashed GHS Diani (Harsh Padha and Naginder Kumar) by 21-15 points.
UDHAMPUR: Two days Inter School Athletic Meet for under-14 and 17 boys and girls gets underway at Mini Stadium here. ZPEO Santosh Kumari declared the meet open.
In under-14 girls, Manisha Devi of GHS Badali Rakh and Shahida of BV Mandir claimed first and second positions respectively in High Jump, whereas in Long Jump, Manisha Devi of GHS Badali Rakh and Aradhna Thakur of Little Flower Convent secured top two positions respectively. In 100 meters, Nisha Devi of GHS Kalta, Anu Devi of Little Flower Convent and Sonia of BVM secured first, second and third positions respectivelt, in 200 meters, Vanshika of Little Flower Convent, Sheetal of GHS Badali Rakh and Usha Devi of GHS Garhi bagged first, second and third positions respectively and in 400 meters, Vanshika of National Academy, Sneha of Bright Carrier and Kajal of Battal Ballian secured top three positions respectively. In Shot Put, Manisha of GHS Badali Rakh, Shahida of BVM and Sneha of Bright Carrier bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-17 girls, Simran of GHSS Krimachi, Romi Devi of GHS Narore and Kritika of GHS, Batal Ballian secured first, second and third positions respectively in 100 meters, whereas in 200 meters, Rukaiya of BVM, Babli Devi of GHS Narore and Shivali of GHS Malhar bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In 400 meters, Simran Kour of GHSS Krimachi, Lalita of GHS Badali Rakh and Lakxmi GHS Malhar) clinched first, second and third positions respectively and in 800 meters, Nitika of GHS Malhar, Pooja of GHSS Krimachi and Sonali of GHS Narore bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Long Jump, Romi Devi of GHS Narore and Anchal Dogri of BVM bagged first and second positions respectively, in High Jump, Sapna Devi of GHSS Udhampur and Jyoti Sharma secured first and second positions respectively and in Shot Put, Lalita Devi of GHS ,Batal Ballian and Babli Devi of GHS Narore claimed first and second positions respectively.
RAMBAN: Inter School Zonal Level Tournament for under-14 and 17 categories in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball commenced here at GHSS Batote. The tournament was inaugurated by Tehsildar Batote SN Suman whileas Samir Jeelani, SHO Batote was guest of honor.
In under-14 Kho Kho (boys), Government City Middle School defeated GMS Sawani by 1 point, whereas in under17 category, GHSS Sanasar smashed GHS Dalwas by 2 points.
In under-14 Kabaddi (boys), GMS Gami crushed Government City Middle School by 4 points, whereas in under-17 category, GHSS Batote registered win over GHS Dalwas by 5 points.
KATHUA: Inter School District Level Tournaments in under-14 and 17 categories in the disciplines of Chess, Table Tennis, Swimming, Badminton, Rope Skipping and Jump Ropes were held today at different venues. At DAV Lachhipur, Gourav Kumar of GHS Gaiterwan trounced Nitin Kumar of GHS Kardoh in under-14 Badminton (boys), whereas Little Angel School Kathua defeated KV Hiranagar by 2-0 in under-17 Badminton (boys). In under-17 Badminton (girls), Manu Shiksha Kendra Rajbagh trounced Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar by 3-1.
In under-14 table tennis (boys), Kanishak Gupta of St Xavier School Hatli trounced Yashvardhan of RS Golden HS Kharote, whereas in under-14 Chess (boys), Purav Mahajan of Spring Dales Kathua defeated Vinay Kumar of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar.
The swimming competition was held at Jandi Pond, wherein in under-15 50 meters freestyle (boys), Munik Sharma of GHS Gurah Mundian, Himanshu of GHSS Hiranagar and Koushal Verma of GHS Mela bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in under-17 100 meters freestyle (boys), Sohail Malik of GHSS Kathua, Sahil Sharma of Unique Public Academy Chadwal and Vinay Sharma of Little Angel School Kathua secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-17 200 meters freestyle (boys), Omparkash of GHSS Kathua and Badal of GHS Rajbagh secured first and second positions respectively.
In under-17 100 meters backstroke (boys), Nitish Sharma of KV Hiranagar,
Anshu Kumar of GHSS Hiranagar and Lal Singh of GHSS Kathua bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 50 meters freestyle (boys), Surjeet Verma of GMS Mangloor,
Bharat Bhushan of GHS Govindsir and Rishu Kumar of GHS Dinga Amb secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in under-14 100 meters freestyle (boys), Biru of GMS Gura Mundian, Rahul Sharma of GHS Mela and Sahil Kumar of GMS Tuthachack bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
REASI: Two days Zonal Level Inter-School Competitions for under-14 and 17 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling concluded at Zorawar Sports Stadium here.
In under-14 Kho-Kho final (girls), Amba Kids Home Panthal defeated Heritage Public School by a narrow margin of two points, whereas in under-17 Kho-Kho final (girls), GGHSS Reasi beat GHS Sirla Bhaga by 9-4 points.
In under-14 Kabaddi final (girls), Amba Kids Home Panthal beat GGHSS by 5 points, whereas in under-17 Kabaddi girls (final), GHSS Panthal smashed GHS Kanjali by 7 points.
In under-14 Volleyball final (girls), GGHSS Reasi remained the winner, whereas in under-17 volleyball final (girls), GHS Kambal Danga beat GGHSS Reasi by 2-1 sets.
RAJOURI: Inter School Tournament for under-14 boys and girls commenced today at different venues.
In boys section (Zone Lower Hathal/Sunderbani), GMS Laman emerged winner in Kabaddi, whereas GMS Sofa remained runner-up, whereas in Kho-Kho, GMS Laman and GMS Mawa remained winner and runner-up respectively. In Volleyball, GMS Sarmoli and GMS Upper Hathal emerged winner and runner-up respectively.
In boys section (Zone Peeri), GHS Taralla and GHSS Peeri emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in Kho-Kho, GMS Taralla and GMS Danna emerged winner and runner-up respectively and in Volleyball, GHSS Peeri and GHS Karhad clinched winner and runner-up title.
In boys and girls sections (Zone Koteranka), GBHS Gabar and GBMS Kandi claimed winner and runner-up title, whereas in Kho-Kho, GBMS Kandi and GHS Mohra Draj emerged winner and runner-up respectively.
In boys section (Zone Khawas), GMS Damlar and GMS Khawas emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in Kho-Kho, GHS Badhal and GMS Damlar emerged winner and runner-up respectively and in Volleyball GHS Badal and GMS Khawas emerged winner and runner-up respectively.
