JAMMU, May 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that PDP-BJP Government has failed to deliver to the public and meet basic necessities of common man in the State.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhour Camp in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Mr Bhalla said that coalition partners have disappointed the electorate by making false commitments and then taking U-turn on all issues. Non- delivery on the part of Government has added to the miseries of each and every section of the society. The Government has failed to ensure supply of basic amenities like ration, power, water and health besides rehabilitation of flood affected people and the farmers.
The employees of different categories including teachers, daily wagers, casual and need based workers and other such categories are regularly seen on protests for their just and genuine demands. This kind of situation has disappointed every common man who is already facing the brunt of sky rocketing prices of all essential commodities and items of daily use.
Mr Bhalla further said that Government should make sincere efforts to minimize the public sufferings. It should ensure that the back log of development and employment at the regional and district levels is made good within a specified time frame. Employment and welfare of the youth should receive special attention. Govt should give high priority to the development of power structure and extend the coverage of all the villages and hamlets with electricity, he added.
Former minister remarked that the people in cities and towns are provided with low voltage and erratic power supplies, the people living in rural and far flung areas are without electricity that too, at a time when the power supplies are needed more to cope-up with the hot humid weather.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Amrit Bali -Sarpanch Bhour Camp and Block president of Congress Party, Kapoor Lal Ward president Bhour Camp, Panch -Ajay Kumar, Panch- Narinder Kour and Panch Kewal Krishan.
