JAMMU, May 12: A seminar on export awareness under series of `Niryat Bandhu’ was organized by Joint Director General of Foreign Trade at Gangyal with the support of Association of Industries here today.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of MK Nikhare, Dy Director General of Foreign Trade in presence of Vinod Behnal, General Manager, District Industries Centre, J&K Govt, Rajesh Jain, president, AOI-Gangyal, SB Abrol, general secretary, Ramesh Kumar Verma and Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade.
The programme started with the inaugural address of Nikhare in which he apprised the audience with role of DGFT in international trade. He stressed upon the need to enter international trade by the local industrialists which could not only enhance their vision but also make an impact of ‘Made in India’ in the world market.
Mr Verma delivered a lecture on the various schemes available with DGFT to encourage exports from India with special reference to the concessions allowed to the exporters from J&K State. He briefed the participants with schemes like Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), Service Export from India Scheme (SFIS), Advance Authorisation Scheme, Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG), etc of which only handful of exporters are taking benefit so far from the Regional authority at Jammu.
He also referred to the special feature of the new policy and obtaining of the first and foremost document to start with exports. He indicated that Importer- Exporter code number has been made completely online and that does not require for any person to visit the office as it is issued within 24 hrs time with PAN and a Bank Certificate being the only pre-requisite to be attached online
Vinod Behnal, the guest speaker discussed the facilities available with District Industries Centre, for both the established and new entrants in Industry.
Rajesh Jain in his presidential remarks appreciated the effort of DGFT organisation to have organized export awareness programme in their association which he stated to be very useful one. He urged the participants to make qualitative products so that they could take the name of industry in Jammu at International level.
