RAJOURI, May 13: SDM Kotranka today penalized 20 employees of BDO office in the town after they were found absent from duty.
Acting on the public complaints, the SDM Sukhpal Singh paid visit to BDO office at around 9.30 AM today and found that hardly three employees were sitting in a room and taking tea while over score of others were missing. The SDM inquired about other staff members but those present tried to save them but could not give proper reply.
The SDM also interacted with some local Panchayat members and prominent persons of the area there and took feed back about the employees posted there. It was established that most of the employees always remain absent and public is left to suffer. The SDM called explanation of the absentee staff and directed to stop their salary. Many employees had not reported after May 1, 2016.
Those found absent are- Prem Paul, Faiz Hussain, Des Raj, Mehmood Khan, Pritam Singh, Amar Singh, Mohd Rafiq, Ghulam Rabbani, Ashfaq Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ravi Chander , Gh Mohiuddin, Mohd Farooq, Vinod Kumar, Shabir Ahmed – all helpers; Angrez Singh, Bharat Singh, Naseer Ahmed and Mohd Ishaq, all DRWs. BDO was directed to ensure the attendance of the employees.
