JAMMU, May 13: Inter Zonal, District and School Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) continued at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions in the disciplines of Hockey, Football and Cricket for under 14 and 17 boys continued for the second day at KK Hakku Stadium, GGM Science College and Government High School (GHS) Jammu Cantt respectively.
SOS lifted under-17 Hockey Championship title by defeating APS Miran Sahab by 2-0 goals via tie-breaker, Earlier, the match ended in a draw with the score reading as 1 goal each after the completion of stipulated time.
In under-17 Hockey Championship, SOS smashed APS Miran Sahab by 2 goals via tie-breaker.
In under-14 Football, APS Miran Sahab beat SOS by 1-0 goals and BSF School crushed GLHS Bajalta by 3-0 goals, whereas in under-17 category, GD Goenka registered win over KB Public School by 4-2 goals via tie breaker, Jodhamal Public School thrashed Ashoka HSS Krishna Nagar by 4-3 goals via tie breaker, DPS crushed MIER by 2-0 goals and JP World beat Maharishi Vidya Mandir by 3-0 goals.
In under-17 Cricket, Bhalwal beat Miran Sahib by 9 wickets in the semifinal match and registered berth in the final.
KATHUA: Inter School Speed Ball competition for under-14 and 17 boys and girls held at Sports Stadium here in which 47 players from different schools participated.
Babu of GMS Mathura Chack secured first position in Solo, Krishna Kant Sharma of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar stand first in under-14 boys single.
In under-14 boys Doubles, Babu and Rashid of GMS Mathura Chack emerged as winners.
In under-17 Solo competitions, Tanish of SAI International School Hiranagar gets first position and in Single, Damish Atri of Minerva Public School Kathua secured first place.
Deepika of GMS Mathura Chack stands first in Solo and in Single, Avni of SIS Hiranagar stand first in under-14 group.
In under-17 Solo girls, Tannu of GHS Kokhyal secured first position, whereas Janvi of SIS Hiranagar excelled in Single event.
SAMBA: Inter School District Level Roll Ball Tournament for under-14 boys held at Kristu Jyoti Convent High School here.
The final match was played between Kristu Jyoti Convent High School and Baba Balak Nath High School Vijaypur, in which latter emerged winner by 6-1 points.
REASI: Two days Inter-Zonal Competitions in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling for under-14 and 17 boys concluded at Zorawar Sports Stadium, here.
In under-14 Kho-Kho final, Reasi defeated Arnas by 12-7 points, whereas in under-17 category, Reasi beat Pouni by 5-4 points.
In under-14 Kabaddi final, Reasi smashed Arnas by 32-19 points while in under-17 category, Reasi beat Chassana by 42-14 points.
In under-14 Volleyball final, Reasi beat Mahore by 2-0 sets, whereas in under-17 category, Arnas registered win over Chassana by 2-1 sets.
