Bani area facing shortage of ration, kerosene oil

KATHUA, May 14: Senior Congress leader and PCC co-treasurer Rajnish Sharma has alleged that people from remote Bani area are facing lot of  problems due to  non-supply of ration and kerosene oil.
In a  meeting of Congress workers held at Bani town today the Congress leader  Rajnish  discussed the problems being faced by the locals of the area. He listened to the public issues and expressed strong resentment over the  non-seriousness on the part of Government.  He said that  BPL category  people are not getting ration for the last 6 months. After interacting with the people of the area that are falling under BPL category, Sharma was told that even when some wheat was supplied to the area recently, the quality was extremely poor.
The Congress leader was further informed that since there is no petrol/diesel pump in Bani  town, the agency nominated for distribution was selling it at higher rates, thereby,  adding to the miseries  and hardships of the common man living in that area. In order to streamline the distribution of  fuel in Bani  town, it is stressed upon the concerned authorities to increase the number of  distributors and to appoint a monitoring agency for keeping the rates under check.
They further demanded that the construction of college building be started immediately, since it was sanctioned long back. The staff and the college students were facing lot of hardships because of no proper building and the students had to attend the classes in a temporary arrangement made by the college authorities at present.
Meanwhile, Darshan Thakur prominent leader of BJP of Panchayat Barmota along with his supporters joined Congress Party in presence of prominent citizens of Bani  constituency.
