Teachers Federation team visits remote schools

JAMMU, May 14: A team of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation of Zone Bhalwal toured remote areas of the zone and visited several Government schools.
The team, led by zonal president Anil Sharma and vice-president Jeeva Kant, visited HS Keri and Sarote and found several deficiencies, in   respect of required staff and infrastructure, transport facility etc.
The team suggested the School Education Department that if water can not be supplied in the area, the mid-day meal scheme should be discontinued and schools in remote should be closed for the summer vacations.
Later, a meeting of the Federation was held wherein the Education Minister was requested to look into the issues and demands of the teachers, particularly the release of their salary under SSA and MDM liabilities.
The team comprised of Sham Kumar, Mohd Iqbal, Pritam Chand, Jeeva Kant, Anil Sharma, Maheshwar Parsad and others.
