SAMBA, May 15: Intensifying its on-going war against influential drug mafia and drug peddlers, Team Jammu today took out an anti-drug bike rally in Samba in which hundreds of youth of Samba district participated to reiterate their commitment to make Jammu region free from the yoke of drugs and narcotics.
This is the fourth rally of its kind organized by the Team Jammu to mobilize youth to become part of the war being spearheaded by the Team against drugs. Earlier, similar rallies were organized in Katra, Rajouri and Jammu city which received unprecedented response, a handout issued by Tam Jammu said.
Hundreds of youth from Samba as well as adjoining areas of Samba district participated in the rally with tri-colour in their hands and raised slogans against drug menace.
The rally was organised by Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman, Team Jammu and secretary general, Press Club of Jammu, which started from New Bus Stand on Jammu-Pathankot Highway in Samba and after passing through prominent locations including Sangwali Mandi, Garh Mandi, Thalora Mandi, Hari Singh Chowk, Link road and Main Bazaar and culminated at Veer Bhoomi Park.
Addressing the rally, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, said, “the Team Jammu has launched a war against drug addiction and drug mafia to liberate our younger generation from the yoke of this menace. Through this rally, we want to make youth aware of drug abuse and its effects on life,” he said.
Among others who were present on the occasion included DIG (retd) Vijay Singh Sambyal, Captain (retd) Inder Singh, Shiv Charan Singh, Vikesh Amba, Ranju Gupta, Anupam Sambyal, Anil Singh Kaka, Ajay Kumar, Rahul Singh and others.
