JAMMU, May 17: Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held protest dharna against the rapid increase in accidents on the city roads under the chairmanship of its president Sunil Dimple.
Addressing the protesters Dimple said that Government has no plan to regulate the traffic because the accidents are taking place, people are dying and traffic management has worsened in the city in general and Jammu West in particular.
Sunil expressed shock over the tragic death of a girl student yesterday and alleged that the Government has no master plan to contain the traffic problem of the Jammu city.
He said every day numerous accidents are taking place in different part of city, but Government was seemingly unmoved.
He demanded construction of four way circular road from Amphalla to Bantalab via Manda, High Court Janipur and Roop Nagar and also from Jewel Chowk to Talab Tillo via Bhagwat Nagar to ease the traffic congestion.
He also demanded widening of the Jewel-Canal road to Purkhu-Akhnoor road.
He alleged the sitting MLAs, MPs are not taking seriously the matter with the Government while the people continue to suffer.
