JAMMU, May 17: BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar while expressing serious concern over the problems faced by Kashmiri migrants especially the relief holders due to denial of ration to Kashmiri migrants for last three months , today warned to lead the agitation of displaced people from camps and non camps on May 23.
Ambardar said he has been pained to see the problems being faced by the relief holders at Jagti and other camps who have not been given ration for last three months and their condition is pitiable. He said the Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Ministry has failed to sort out the issue during last over three months with the result various migrant families as per reports are at the verge of starvation.
He said being a public and community representative he can’t tolerate such an injustice with his people and will be fore-front of agitation on May 23 the call of which was given by relief holders of different camps and non camp areas.
Ambardar has also sought the immediate intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh asking them to look into the issue and pass orders to CAPD to ensure immediate supply of ration to displaced people as stopping of ration for over three months is totally an injustice.
Mr Ambardar along with relief holders representative Sunil Pandita, Jagti Welfare Committee representatives, Vijay Kaul, Deepak Jad and Chander Handoo called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner R K Pandita and informed him that in case the ration will not be supplied by May 23 the migrants will launch a massive agitation.
However Mr Pandita assured them that the issue will be sorted by May 23.
