DODA, May 17: Congress workers of block Bhalessa held protest rally at Gandoh town against the ruling coalition for its failure to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader Mohammad Sharief Niaz was leading the protest rally. Niaz alleged that general public is suffering as it has been deprived of basic amenities. The people are not getting ration, kerosene oil, drinking water and adequate supply of power. The work on many road projects and water supply schemes has been stalled due to non availability of funds. The condition of roads was worst.
Many employees having some affiliation with Congress are being victimized and harassed. They are being transferred to the far off places just for the sake of political grudge. Teachers are the major victims. Due to this several schools are suffering. Authorities are adopting this cruel attitude against employees belonging to Congress families at the instigation of ruling party legislators and leaders of Bhaderwah constituency.
Niaz also alleged that State sponsored terrorism is practiced in Bhaderwah constituency. He demanded that Mehbooba Mufti should direct her minister and officers to change their revengeful attitude against the Congress workers. He also demanded that all under construction developmental schemes be completed at the earliest. All projects of roads submitted under PMGSY to Union Govt in 2013 be got approved and taken in hand for execution, balance payment under MGNREGA be paid to job card holders, all constructed roads be blacktopped, scale of ration be enhanced and supply to consumers on cheaper rates, ration cards and Aadhar cards be issued to public.
Congress leader pointed out that most of the consumers have been deleted from their ration cards. He demanded these deleted consumers be registered immediately. Recently thousands quintals of smuggled ration including about 200 bags of sugar at Batyas by CA and PD employees was seized by public as a result people are not getting ration from last three months. Niaz demanded that ration be provided to starving people.
