JKCAD officials take up issues with Governor

SRINAGAR, May 18: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association of the Deaf (JKCAD) led by its president Ishtaq Ahmad Drabu and general secretary Imran Khan met Governor NN Vohra.
Cricketers Umar Ashraf and Muzaffar Ahmad and Peer Shahid, Interpreter were also present on the occasion.
Shahid apprised the Governor about the excellent performances of Umar Ashraf and Muzaffar Ahmad in the recently concluded Deaf World Cup which was held in Dubai.
Through Interpreter Shahid, the players and officials discussed the various problems which are being faced by them including sponsorships for enabling the talented special youth in pursuing sports and games and the lack of special schools and classes in the State Government educational institutions.
Governor listened to the issues patiently and observed that he would take up the same with the concerned authorities.
He wished the two cricket players high success in future Deaf World Cup Championships and assured financial support of Rs 2 lakh for the Cricket Association of the Deaf.
