JAMMU, May 18: Players continue to vie for top honours in the ongoing Inter School and Zonal Level Competitions, being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions for under14 and 17 boys in the disciplines of Judo, Rope Skipping, Yoga and Tennis Ball Cricket gets underway at MA Stadium and Green Field ground.
In under-14 Judo (under 25 kg category), Aditya of BSF Paloura and Akshit of SOS bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in under-30 kg category, Rishav of GHS Sohanjana beat Gagandeep of MS Gho Manhasa and Aditya Singh of GD Goenka smashed Pranav of APS Kaluchak. In under-35 kg category, Ayush Raina of GD Goenka registered win over Tushar of Alexandra Public School and Akshay of BSF Paloura crushed Vishal Kumar of MS Gho Manhasa. In under-40 kg category, Sunil Kumar of SOS beat Akash of MS Gho Manhasa.
In under-14 Tennis Ball Cricket, DBN beat Maharishi Vidya Mandir by 8 wickets.
SAMBA: Inter School Zone Level Athletics Championship for under-14 and 17 girls held here.
In under-14 category, Shivani of GMS Garh Mandi Samba secured first position in 100 meters, whereas in 200 meters, Samriti Rajput of NV Dhalote bagged first position, in 400 meters, Anjali Devi of GMS Penthi secured first position and in 600 meters, Preeti Devi of GMS Badla Brahmana clinched first position.
In under-14 Long Jump, Samriti Rajput of NV Dhalote emerged winner, whereas in under-14 High Jump, Kiran Devi of GMS Garh Mandi clinched first position.
In under-14 Discuss Throw, Shabnam Choudhary of GHS Sarna emerged as winner, whereas in Shot-Put, Shabnam Choudhary of GHS Sarna bagged first position.
In under-17 category, Esha Jamwal of NV Dhalote emerged winner in 100 meters, whereas in 200 meters, Shivani Devi of GHS Sarna bagged first position, in 400 meters, Prinka Devi of CMP Nud clinched first position, in 800 meters, Reva Devi of GHSS Sumb bagged first position and in 1500 meters, Priya Rajput of GHSS Sumb secured first position.
In under-17 Long Jump, Pinki Devi of GHSS Samba clinched first position, whereas in under-17 High Jump, Jyoti Devi of GHSS Samba bagged first rank.
In under-17 Triple Jump, Esha Jamwal of NV Dhalote bagged first position, whereas in under-17 Discus Throw, Taruna Pangotra of GHSS Samba clinched first position.
In under-17 Shot-Put, Ruksana Bibi of GHS Ramgarh secured first position, whereas in Javelin Throw, Shivani Devi of GHS Sarna bagged first rank.
BHADERWAH: Inter School Tournament in Kho-Kho Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling was held at Boys Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah.
In the U/17 volleyball match, HS Nichla Thara beat HS Bhalra, U/14 Kho-Kho Adarsh Bhawan beat B.V.M and Kabaddi BVM smashed MS Gatha.
