Jammu Kings win title by defeating BD Bari Jaguars in final

SAMBA, May 19: Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volley Ball League (JHPVL) concluded here today with Jammu Kings emerging as overall winner by defeating its rival team BD Bari Jaguars in the final match played today.
A total of 64 teams from the districts of Samba, Jammu and Kathua participated in the month-long competition. However, after a tough challenge throughout the month, it all boiled down to the best two teams, BD Bari Jaguars and Jammu Kings who locked horns in the final in front of near capacity crowd at Samba Military Stadium.
In the fiercely contested final match, Jammu Kings beat BD Bari Jaguars. Arun Singh playing for Jammu Kings turned out to be the player of the series. The winning team apart from lifting a gold plated trophy bagged a cash prize of Rs 30,000 whereas the runners up team was awarded a silver plated trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest of the event and while Sham Chaudhary, PHE and Irrigation Minister and Farooq Khan, National Secretary of BJP, were the guests of honour.
Daljeet Chib, Vice Chairman, Kisan Board, J&K along with Dr MK Manyal, MLA Samba and Kuldeep Kumar, MLA Hiranagar also attended the event. Lieutenant General KJ Singh, Army Commander, Western Command and Lieutenant General Ashok Ambre, General Officer Commanding, Rising Star Corps were also present during the final match.
