Biggest Debating Phenomenon ‘Vox Populi’ started at Jodhamal School

JAMMU, May 29: Vox Populi—The biggest Debating Phenomenon started at Jodhamal Public School today wherein almost 250 students from around 20 schools across the State participated.
The chief guest during opening ceremony Dr Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Student Welfare, Jammu University said that this kind of unconventional debate will expand the horizon of the students and teachers equally.
Pramod Srivastava, Principal, Model Academy was guest of honour.
The programme started with a dogri folk song “Taare Tuda Payaan” performed by Jodhamal kids followed by the Punjabi Folk dance “Jagoo Aaiyenyaa”.
Shreyansh Bhalotia, President and founder of Vox Populi declared the Debate Open with his address wherein his parents Pawan Kumar Bhalotia and Shweta Bhalotia together with the Vice President of Vox Populi were also present.
Trilok Singh Bist, Principal of the School and presiding guest for the day said “We need the leaders of the future getting prepared via such competitions wherein in a very informal manner we can develop the soft skills among our students and make them rough and tough to face the world the way it comes”.
Keynote Speaker Colonel Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal Sainik School Nagrota gave tips to the students and told them how they can lead the country in the times to come from the front with human values at the crux of everything. He was accompanied by his son Mrityunjay, who sung a beautiful song in the cultural evening.
During cultural evening, Nandini Kapoor of Jodhamal mesmerized everyone in the Hall by her melodious voice and after her third song on demand everyone had goose bumps. Adab from Baramulla also sang the song “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma”, Shaqib Sheikh and his Band from Jodhamal enthralled the audience together with the little girls from GD Goenka Jammu mesmerizing everyone with their beautiful song. Vatsala from JMPS sang a vibrant English number. The day came to a close by a beautiful song sung by the special guest Usha Kher, one of the parents of the participants from GD Goenka.
