JAMMU, May 31: With a view to promote peace among students, Gandhi King Literary Society was established at KC International School, Jammu in co-ordination with the Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter.
The Installation ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp by the respected dignitaries including Chief Patron Dr Seema Rohmetra, Co-ordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation, Patron, Chaitanya Chowdhary, Vice Chairman, Convenor Brig S Sahney, Board of Governor Maya Mishra, Principal, Co-Convenor Kesar Patel, Headmistress, Secretaries Priya Bhat Dhar, Priya Singh, Meenakshi Kumari.
The Student Structure including President Samarthya Singh, Grade XII, Vice President, Praguni Goel, Grade XII, Secretaries Bhumik Dhar and Isobel Tabitha, while Student Volunteers namely Harshvardhan Singh Rana, IV, Dhriti Gupta, IV, Lakshita Chowdhary, V, Saransh Ambardar, IV, Suryansh Chowdhary, V, Rudraksh Ganjoo, IV, Divam Upadhyay, V, Divij Chouhan, IV and Jasmine Chowdhary, V were also present.
The oath for the peace was delivered to the members of the society by the Principal of the school, Maya Mishra.
Samarthya Singh, President spoke about the main purpose with which the society was established, while Praguni Goel, Vice President announced the programmes which the society would conduct during the year to promote peace and harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Maya Mishra stressed upon the importance of peace and harmony in lives.
Earlier, a welcome song and a few other programmes were presented on the occasion by the students, while the vote of thanks was given by Maya Mishra.
