RAMBAN, June 3: Police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Bowli Bazaar area here.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban police station laid a naka at Bowli Bazaar and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor from the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Om Parkash, son of Pishore Lal, a resident of Aneyare, Makarkot.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people for illegitimate profit.
A case under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Pardeep Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
