SRINAGAR, June 5: Railway XI Cricket team defeated Momin Cricket Club and lifted Gondipora Premier League T20 Cricket tournament at Gondipora, Budgam.
Momin Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. The team managed a total of 117 runs in the allotted overs. In reply, Railway Eleven completed the target of 118 runs for the loss of just four wickets and defeated Momin Cricket Club by six wickets.
Thirty-two teams from different areas of district Budgam participated in the tournament. Vice-Chairman, District Sports Council, Budgam, Rifat Abdullah, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes among the players.
Addressing the players on the occasion, Rifat Abdullah assured the gathering that J&K State Sports Council will try its best to create better infrastructure for Sports in District Budgam. He also informed that a multi-purpose indoor stadium will be constructed in Soibug, Budgam with an estimated cost of four crore rupess.
