Students from Sardar Patel University call on DGP

SRINAGAR, June 6: A group of students and faculty members from Sardar Patel University of Police, Security & Criminal Justice Jodhpur called on Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar here today. The students are on educational tour to the valley and have visited various places and institutions in the State.
The students interacted with the DGP on different matters including working of Jammu and Kashmir Police, security scenario and other activities in the State. They also talked about the organizational set up and functioning of educational institutions.
Mr. Rajendra, giving a brief knowhow about Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization and its working said that the force having different wings and units is engaged in public service at different fronts in the State. He said that besides its prime duty of maintaining law and order, ensuring security of the State and crime detection, JKP is also contributing in social responsibilities promoting educational and sports activities in the State. Sports and cultural events are conducted to give boost to the talented youth so that they excel at different levels.
On the occasion ADGP CID, S M Sahai gave a detailed power point presentation about the historical background of Jammu and Kashmir and working of JKP in the State. He also deliberated on the democratic set up of the State and disclosed that JKP has faced various odds during its history and has always succeeded to keep the flag of the National afloat.
During the interaction, the students and faculty members also shared their views with the DGP and other senior police officers about the atmosphere of the State. Founder Vice Chancellor of the University, M. L. Kumawat was also accompanying the students.
The interaction was attended by Special DG (Coordination), SK Mishra, ADG (Headquarters), VK Singh, MD (PHC), AK Choudhary, IGPs, HK Lohia, SJM Gillani, MA Khan, Sunil Kumar, SL Sharma and Jagjit Kumar, DiG (Adm:), Garib Dass, AIGPs, Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Tahir Sajad and Kulbir Singh and other police offices.
