SRINAGAR, June 8: Government today said an amount of Rs. 500 crore would be made available as central assistance for implementation of smart city proposal for each selected city and the implementation time frame will be 5 years.
In a written answer to a question of MLA Rajesh Gupta in Lower House, Minister Incharge Housing and Urban Development Department said the Government of India has considered both the capital cities Srinagar and Jammu for the participation in ‘All India Smart City Challenge Process’.
“Accordingly, the department has requested the Ministry of Urban Development GoI, to release Rs. 2 crore each for preparation of smart city proposal for Srinagar and Jammu city,” the Minister said.
