SSP PCR flags-off cricket team for exposure tour

JAMMU, June 10: SSP PCR Jammu Ashok Sharma flagged-off Jammu Junior Cricket team for exposure tour to Amritsar, which is being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu.
During the exposure tour, there will be a three cricket match series of Jammu Junior Cricket XI and Punjab Junior Cricket XI. The matches will be played at Amandeep Singh Cricket Academy, Amritsar and will be of 30 overs. The matches will be held under the overall supervision of International Player Harvinder Singh.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP PCR Jammu said that the J&K Police is committed to provide platforms to the youths of the State to exhibit their talent in different sports activities and may involve in extracurricular activities so that they may not derail from the main stream. He further said that the performance roaster of the participating players will be prepared during the tour and best performer will be honoured by the Police Headquarters, Jammu.
During interaction meeting with the team, SSP PCR highlighted some points on the drug menace and aware them about its abuse.
“We are aiming at holding special camps for the talented players of Jammu Zone with the help of some senior cricketers after the completion of tour and we will  also organize cricket tournament namely Jammu Cricket Premier League for junior cricketers on the pattern of PPCPL at Jammu in August”, he said, and conveyed his best wishes to the Jammu Junior team players for their best performances in the said series.
The players of the team apart from participating in the cricket series will be provided an opportunity to visit the historical and religious places like Jallianlwala  Bagh, Wagha Border, Golden Temple, Sheetla Mandir and Alpha Mall, said Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Incharge of the tour.
The Zonal Police Headquarter Jammu has nominated Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Player as Manager, who will be assisted by Dilbag Singh Former national player as coach and Vishal Singh, former national player as asstt coach.
Ravinder Pal Singh, Additional SP PCR, DySP Updesh Kumar, Inspector Rajesh Anand, Madan Kumar and RP Singh were also present on the occasion.
The 16 member team includes Aryan Dogra, Swastic Sharma, Rohan Gill, Ridham Mahajan, Satyam, Randeep Singh, Ayush Anotra, Ritwic Sharma, Vinayak, Augustaya Sharma, Ashim Nanda, Anmol Manhas, Sidharth Singh,Kanav, Laith Shekher and Rihansh Bhandari.
