KATHUA, June 10: The BJP activists today held a demonstration at Dayalachak against SHO Hiranagar and blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway for two hours. They alleged that he was harassing the people in the area unnecessarily.
The protest was led by advocate Vijay Sharma ex district president BJP while district president of the party, Prem Nath Dogra and other leaders including Mohan Lal, Banu Partap and Shashi Pal also attended it.
The protesters raising slogans against the SHO demanded action against him. They alleged that SHO was misbehaving with the people and harassing them unnecessarily. They said that no action is being taken against the bovine smugglers as police is having a nexus with them. The bovine smugglers are given a free deal. Many bovine animals which have crossed from the Hiranagar areas have been rescued by Samba police. Further a large number of cases registered under Section 174 are pending as the SHO has failed to investigate them for obvious reasons.
Later the road blockade was lifted on the assurance of ASP, Kathua who intimated the protestors that the issue will be taken with SSP Kathua.
