VCC Akhnoor registers 7 wkts win over FCC, to lock horns with SCC Akhnoor in summit clash

*Govil clinches ‘Man of the Match’ title

JAMMU, June 11: Splendid inning of 75 runs off 45 balls by Govil helped Vijayanta Cricket Club (VCC) Akhnoor to register 7 wickets win over Friends Cricket Club (FCC) in the second semifinal of the ongoing 34th Vishav Bandhu Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Akhnoor. VCC will now lock horns with Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor in the summit clash of the tournament.
Batting first after winning the toss, FCC scored 167 runs for all out in 19.3 overs. Rohit was the top scorer with 39 runs, while Amit and Nitu chipped-in 28 and 22 runs respectively.
For VCC Akhnoor side, Sunny was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 3 wickets, while Amit and Deepak took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, VCC Akhnoor chased the target in 16.3 overs for the loss of just 3 wickets. Govil played a magnificent inning of 75 runs off 45 balls, while Manik and Sumit made 27 runs each.
For FCC side, Happy displayed good bowling performance and took all the three wickets.
Govil of VCC Akhnoor was declared as Man of the Match.
