IR-10th Bn organises route march

JAMMU, Sept 21: IR-10th Battalion, Gandhi Nagar, organised a route march today, which was flagged off by Commandant of the Battalion, Vijay Singh Sambyal from Gulshan Ground here at 5:30 am.
The troops after flag off took the route of University road to Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu passed through Balidan Stumbh, Qasim Nagar, Narwal Chowk, Forest Check Post, SK Bridge Gujjar Nagar, Jogi Gate, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk and culminated at Battalion Headquarters, Gandhinagar.
The purpose of organising the route march was to keep the troops fit to face any eventuality at the time of Law and Order situation and to build confidence among the troops. To avoid any sort of eventuality, an armed advance reece party was deployed enroute. Telecom staff as well as pharmacist of the Unit in ambulance was also following the marching jawans for better communication and first aid respectively.
During the route march, troops showed high sense of discipline and courage. The Commandant kept interacting with the jawans throughout the route to keep them active and enthusiastic. He exhorted upon the officers to organise such programmmes so as to inculcate a sense of discipline among the troops.
IGP Armed/IR Jammu zone, Gulzar Singh Slathia, appreciated the role of officers and jawans of IR 10th Battalion for their sincere endeavour in organising various events in the Battalion.
