SRINAGAR, Sept 21: The 68th Inter State and 77th Senior National Badminton Championship-2012, is being hosted by J&K Badminton Association, at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Stadium Srinagar, from September 26 to October 3, 2012, here.
About 800 players and officials from different States/Union Territories of the Country, will be participating in this mega event.
According to a handout issued here the star players like Jwala Gutta, Ashwani Ponappa, P Kashyap and V.Diju, who had participated in the recently held London Olympics will be participating in the Championship. Saina Nehwal, Olympic Medalist, is also expected to participate in this prestigious event.
It is for the first time that this tournament is being hosted in Srinagar and second time in the State as it was held at Jammu in 1986-87.
Lodging arrangements for the players and officials have been made in the different hotels near the stadium and the boarding arrangements at the venue itself.
