JAMMU, Sept 21: Scripting emphatic wins over their rivals in second round today, Gagandeep and Aditya Sharma along with others entered pre-quarterfinals in the ongoing 22nd Jammu District Open Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall in MA Stadium, here.
Gagandeep drubbed Sajal Kohli in two straight frames (2-0) by (63-47, 49-33), while Aditya Sharma trounced Gourav Badgotra by (2-1) and the final scores read (36-39, 38-14, 59-16).
In other matches played today, Mandeep Singh got better of Shashank Khajuria 2-0 by (44-23, 37-19), Akshay Kumar got walkover against Hari Vaid, Rohit Sodhi drubbed Manav Langer 2-0 by (62-54, 71-31), Vasudev Singh trounced Yousaf 2-1 by (55-24, 13-52, 67-15), Aditya Sharma prevailed upon Agam Anand 2-0 by (56-36, 48-42), Pankaj Sharma beat Kanav Manwa 2-0 by (61-30, 46-34), Abhi Gupta outplayed Sumit Sharma 2-0 by (58-40, 66-52).
The pre-quarterfinal matches would be held tomorrow.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the senior snooker event would start from September 25 and the draws for seeding and placing would be held on September 23 at 5 PM. The organizers have invited all those who are interested to participate in the senior snooker event to submit their entries at Billiards Hall till 4 pm on September 23.
