HYDERABAD: In a major swoop, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the local police rounded up eleven persons suspected to be having link with terror group Islamic State (IS), in old city area today.
Large quantity of weapons, explosives and cash were recovered from them.
Police sources said, the searches were being carried out in view of terror activities being planned in the city.
The raids were conducted at Chandrayangunta, Moghulpura, Meer Chowk, Bhavani Nagar by NIA.
Mohd Iliyas Yagnani, Mohd Elias Yagnani, Abdulbin Mohammad Almodi, Abhin Mohammadd, Mohd Irfhan, Muzafher Hussain and five others were taken into custody by the NIA and conducting inquiry at undisclosed place.
Earlier this year, 14 people, including two people from Hyderabad suspected to be sympathizers of the ISIS were picked up from across the country in an anti-terror operation by the NIA. (AGENCIES)
