JAMMU, July 3: Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha  honoured several biradari heads and discussed various issues  of the community in a meeting held at Raj Tilak Bhawan, Purani Mandi here today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Narayan Singh, president of the Sabha. A large number of  Rajput community members representing various biradaries including Jamwal, Bandral, Manhas,  Katoch, Jasrotia, Slathia, Pathania, Lalotra, Bhadwal, Andotra, Bhau  etc from various districts attended the meeting here today.
The main object of the meeting was to deliberate on various issues confronting the community. All Rajput Biradari members listed their demands and raised issues like discrimination in recruitment of Rajput youth in civil services  by the Government, non-representation of community members in the Recruitment Boards  at district level. The speakers stressed upon the need of unity among the Rajput biradaries in the State.
On this occasion, prominent Biradari heads were also felicitated by Narayan Singh by presenting turbans. Rajput biradari  unanimously passed a resolution demanding that statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of J&K State be installed at Kunjwani Chowk, the site already identified by the previous Government and a holiday be declared  on September 23 on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh the former ruler of J&K State.
