Concern over disruption in BSNL services

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 5: BJP district president Rural and former Corporator Omi Khajuria has expressed grave concern over the dismal performance of the BSNL especially in Bantalab area.
Mr Khajuria said that land line phones of many consumers linked to Bantalab Exchange are not functioning for a long time and despite making repeated pleas to concerned authorities they have failed to restore the land line connections to the hapless consumers who are facing many hardships for the same.
Khajuria said that the consumers despite paying the bill in time are made to suffer due to the callousness of BSNL and the authorities at the helm of affairs are also unable to listen to their problem.
He said the phone connections have also been disrupted by digging roads by the private telecom company in the area and the said company over a lapse of one month has failed to remove the muck and mud stacked on the link road in Anuradhapuram Barnai.
He said the residents are facing worst problems after digging of the road by the firm which has not sought permission from any government agency including PWD and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
He also criticized the R&B Department for its failure in taking legal action against the firm and its contractor for damaging Government property and taking the people of the area to ransom by digging the road.
Khajuria demanded that the link road in Anuradhapuram be immediately restored failing which the people will be forced to block the Akhnoor road and the authorities will be responsible for all consequences.
