Arushi of BSF Paloura bags 1st place in U-9 Chess

JAMMU, Sept 22: Arushi Kotwal of BSF School Paloura bagged first place in the Under-9 category of the Inter-School Chess Tournament, organized by All J&K Chess Association, which got underway at Hotel Nek, here today.
Meanwhile, Praguni of Convent School Jammu claimed first place in Under-7 category, Meenal Gupta of KV Sunjwan bagged first place in Under-11 category and Arushi Sharma of Carmel Convent School clinched first place in Under-13 category.
Shauriya Priyal and Neeharika Gupta, both of JK Public School claimed first places in Under-15 and Under-17 categories respectively.
The selected players would represent J&K in the forthcoming National School Chess Championship to be held at Delhi from October 26 to October 29, 2012, under the banner of All India Chess Federation.
Today’s matches were conducted by FIDE Arbiter Anil Kotwal.
