GCW Parade celebrates ‘World Ozone Day’

JAMMU, Sept 22: In collaboration with J&K State Council for Science and Technology, under the auspices of its Science Club, Government College for Women Parade, Jammu celebrated the World Ozone Day, here today.
The program comprised of a symposium on the theme ‘Ozone: the savior’ in which ten students participated.
Prof Veena Pandita, Prof SDS Jamwal and Prof Umesh Kailoo were the judges of the pogramme.
Sabhiya of BSc Part II got first prize, while Bindiya Jamwal and Leela Bano of B Sc Part III secured second and third place respectively. Manvi Sharma, Tania Goutam of B Sc Part I and Amanpreet of B Sc  Part III got consolation prizes.
Dr Poonam Kamotra, Convenor, Science Club, presented the welcome address.
Prof Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the college, applauded the efforts of the Science Club in the organization of significant events under its banner on the campus.
Prof SPS Dutta Former HoD Environment Sciences also spoke on the occasion.
Nisha Arora of B Sc Part III anchored the occasion, while Dr Pragya Khanna, Head, Department of Zoology, presented the vote of thanks.
