Inter-College debate competition held

JAMMU, Sept 22: Inter-College debate competition on ‘It is only the teacher who influences the child’s character most’ was held at RM College of Management & Information Technology, here today.
The students from more than 10 Colleges participated in the competition, in which Prof Mubarak Singh, Department of Education, University of Jammu, was the chief guest and Prof RP Sharma, Department of Geography, University of Jammu was the special  guest on the occasion.
Chairman of the College, Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee of the College, Rita Mengi and Principal, PK Dhar presided over the function.
The function started with the lighting of traditional lamp, which was followed by a Saraswati Vandana presented by the students.
Meanwhile, Ishtiaq Ahmed from Govt MAM College got first place, Sanam Sharif Khan from Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar bagged second, while the third place went to Shriya Raina from Govt. College for Women, Parade. Vikram Singh Jamwal from R.M. College of Management & IT and Sonam Khajuria from Govt. College for women, Gandhi Nagar got consolation prizes.
Prof. Mubarak Singh while distributing certificates to the participants applauded the efforts of the College and blessed the students for their future.
Chairman of the College also spoke on the occasion, while the Principal PK Dhar presented welcome address.
The programme was conducted by Bellu Suri and Ajaz Ahmad, Lecturers of the College.
Lecturer Saveeta Sharma presented vote of thanks.
